At Universal Martial Arts, Hapkido is taught to adults only. The classes are combined with Goshen Ju Jitsu where students
will earn rank in both styles. The techniques, when excuted properly, are designed to disable an attacker making it more practical
for street self-defense. The theory is deceptively simple. The stylist is taught to intercept the speed and power of their
attacker and turn that force back on the attacker. This is why size and gender are not factors in mastering this form of self-defense.
Techinque and balance are the essential elements.

At Universal Martial Arts, master instructor Walter Fricke, incorporates "Ki" energy exercises into his Hapkido instruction.
These exercises are designed to teach each student how to balance their own inner flow of energy.
